KATHMANDU: Suman Pokharel has been named as Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Pokharel was named deputy chief executive officer at the bank’s board of directors meeting on Sunday.
Pokharel has worked in the banking and finance sectors for almost two decades.
Pokharel has previously held the position of Senior Vice President of IME Group, where he distinguished himself as a skilled manager by playing a very efficient and leadership role in the long-term business planning, strategy creation, and implementation of financial institutions.
As the CEO of Nepal’s first remittance company, IME Limited, he has played a vital role in propelling the company to new heights.
Pokharel, the recently appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to join Nepal’s largest bank and stated that he will contribute to the bank’s continued growth.
GIBL is the first commercial bank in the private sector with branch network in 77 districts of the country.
The bank is providing services to more than 45 million customers from more than 1,100 service centers including 352 branches, 362 ATMs, 322 branchless banking services, 66 extension and revenue collection counters and 3 foreign representative offices.
