Released prisoner Lokendra commits homicide 25 days after release

KATHMANDU: A man from Rukum Paschim who had been pardoned by President Ram Chandra Poudel was found to have murdered a woman 25 days after being released from prison.
On the day of Constitution Day last Ashoj 3 (Sept 20), Lok BahadurBK, 33, of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-9 of Rukum West, who was freed from jail office Rukum after being pardoned by the President, took the woman to the hotel and killed her, according to police.
Lok Bahadur killed Bhawana BK, 28, of Musikot Municipality-7 Sankha, according to District Police Office Rukum West Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Namraj Bhattarai.
He stated that the accused Lok Bahadur admitted to killing Bhawana. Lok Bahadur was released from prison when President Poudel pardoned him on the occasion of the 9th Constitution Day last Ashoj 3 (Sept 20).
According to police, the same Lok Bahadur murdered Bhawana on Monday, Ashoj 29 (Oct 16), in a hotel in Musikot Municipality-1 Khalanga Bazar, 25 days after he was released from prison.
Accused of murder Lok Bahadur was imprisoned in Rukum Jail for polygamy.
Lok Bahadur was imprisoned on Falgun 14, 2079 (26 February , 2023), after being condemned to one year in prison by the Surkhet High Court on Jestha 9, 2076 (23 May , 2019).
