New notes from today, how much can one person exchange?

KATHMANDU: New Nepali rupees will be available from today.

The new notes are aimed at Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, the great festivals of Nepali people.

Nepal Rastra Bank has provided possibilities for minting new notes in Kathmandu Valley through its Money Management Department and branches of several Banijya Banks

Outside the valley, preparations have been made for new notes to be exchanged by visiting the state office of Rastra Bank or the branch office of several Banijya Banks.

Rastra Bank has been giving the facility of new notes to the common people every year before Dashain on the occasion of festival.

This year too, as in the previous years, arrangements have been made to exchange notes of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 rupees, according to the Rastra Bank. Arrangements have been made to issue new notes at the rate of 18,500 rupees per person.
