KATHMANDU: New Zealand has won the ICC Cricket World Cup for the third time in a row.

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the match that ended on Friday, their third consecutive triumph.

New Zealand achieved the target of 246 runs set by Bangladesh with losing two wickets in 42.5 overs.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, Bangladesh scored 245 runs in 50 overs, losing 9 wickets.

New Zealand now has six points in three games and leads the points table.

Bangladesh, likewise, suffered their second defeat in three matches. Bangladesh ranks sixth in the points rankings with two points from three matches.

Now New Zealand is scheduled to play Afghanistan on October 18, while Bangladesh is scheduled to play India on Oct 19.
