Mbappe’s heroics seal France’s Eurocup berth; Portugal and Belgium qualify too

KATHMANDU: France, Portugal, and Belgium have been chosen to seelected in the 2024 Eurocup. France qualified for the Eurocup after defeating the Netherlands 2-1 in Group B Sunday night.
Kylian Mbappe scored both goals for France. Likewise, Quilindschy Hartman scored for the Netherlands. Following this victory, France now has 18 points in six games and leads the group. The Netherlands is third in the standings with 9 points from 5 games.
Portugal was chosen to play in the Eurocup in Germany in 2024 after defeating Slovakia. Last night, Portugal overcame Slovakia 3-2 in Group J.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals and Goncalo Ramos scored one in Portugal’s triumph. In addition, Ronaldo has 125 international goals. He is the world’s most international goalscorer. Slovakia’s goals came from David Hanko and Stanislav Lobotka.
This is Portugal’s eighth consecutive Eurocup title. Portugal leads Group J with 21 points in 7 games after this victory. Slovakia is second with 13 points after seven games.
Belgium overcame Austria 3-2 in Sunday night’s Group F match to secure their place in the Eurocup. In Belgium’s triumph, Dodi Lukebakio scored two goals and Romelu Lukaku scored one. Austria’s goals came from Konrad Laimer and Marcel Sabitzer.
Belgium was reduced to ten men after Amadou Onana was sent off in the 78th minute of the game.
Belgium now has 16 points from six games in Group F and leads the group. Australia leads the group with 13 points after six games.
