Manang Air helicopter crashes in Solukhumbu during rescue mission

KATHMANDU: A Manang Air helicopter has crashed in Lobuche, Solukhumbu.

The 9N-ANJ helicopter, which took off from Rumjatar at 7:13 a.m., tumbled slightly while landing at Lobuche.

Captain PK Sedhai, alias Prakash Kumar Sedai, was the only person aboard the helicopter that went to rescue the patient. He is being transported to Kathmandu for medical treatment.

Captain Sedai is being transported to Kathmandu by Fishtail Air chopper, according to Ganendra Bhul, the authority’s information officer.

The cause of the helicopter crash has not yet been revealed. “It seems that there was an accident during landing, the reason is not clear,” he said, “There were no human casualties because there were no passengers.”
