Teacher stabbed to death in northern French city of Arras: media

PARIS: A teacher was killed and several other people injured in a knife attack on Friday morning at a high school in the northern French city of Arras, reported local media.

“A police operation took place at the Lycee Gambetta in Arras. The perpetrator was arrested by the police,” said French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin on X, formerly Twitter.
The deceased was a literature teacher, BFMTV reported, adding that an agent of the school, who was stabbed several times, is in very critical condition, while another teacher is also severely injured.
According to BFMTV, the police arrested immediately the suspect who is about 20 years old and flagged by French security services for radicalization.
