KMC hosts free eye checkup camp

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City held a free eye checkup camp for two days.
From Thursday, the Metropolitan Municipality in collaboration with Nepal Eye Hospital conducted a free eye camp on the occasion of World Sight Day.
It is estimated that 1,500 to 2,000 people, including journalists, media workers, Kathmandu Metropolitan City public representatives, employees, and women health volunteers working within the Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality, will be eye examined.
Talking to the media persons at the camp, Ram KC, an employee of Nepal Eye Hospital, said that this camp was kept for security personnel and journalists.
He said that the goal is to treat those who have to undergo surgery at Nepal Eye Hospital at a discount.
He said, “This camp has been set up for security personnel and journalists. We will conduct this camp today and tomorrow. We can provide this service to up to 2,000 employees in the camp. This is a free camp, free examination, free treatment. If they have to undergo an operation, we will treat them at a discounted rate at Nepal Eye Hospital.
On the occasion of World Sight Day 2080, KMC conducted free eye examination in collaboration with Nepal Eye Hospital.
