Gold Smuggling Case: Case to be filed against four, including Rahul Mahara

KATHMANDU: The Public Prosecutor’s Office has revealed its findings regarding a gold smuggling case involving electronic cigarettes (vapes) and is proceeding to file a case in court.
It was disclosed that the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Police, which had previously returned the investigation report with additional statements, has paved the way for an official case to be filed at the Kathmandu District Court today.
On the previous Friday, the CIB returned the investigation report to the public prosecutor’s office with specific directives.
The District Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that the accused individuals, including Rahul Mahara, the son of Maoist leader Krishna Mahara, were instructed to provide supplementary statements, and the revised report was returned yesterday.
The CIB has submitted the investigation report to the public prosecutor’s office, thus clearing the path for a legal case against four individuals, which includes Rahul Mahara.
