KATHMANDU: The number of dengue-infected people in Nepal has drastically increased.

The overall number of affected people, according to EDCD data provided two days ago, was 35,223.
According to EDCD of the EPDMiology and Disease Control Division, dengue illness has been confirmed in 36,744 people so far.
Over an eight-month period, 20 people died among those afflicted, according to the division, and the infected was found in 76 districts.
The infected has been observed in all districts excluding the heavily afflicted Sunsari district.
According to the department, the infected has been verified in 16 thousand 95 people in Sunsari. Tanahun district comes in second with 3,710 afflicted persons.
