Parliamentary Committee Meeting: Urgent instructions issued to repatriate bodies of Nepalis from Israel

KATHMANDU: The International Relations and Tourism Committee under the House of Representatives has instructed the government to bring back the bodies of the Nepalis who died in the Israeli attack as soon as possible.

The chair of the committee, Rajkishor Yadav, urged the government on behalf of the committee to treat the injured, promptly search for the missing Nepalis, and rescue and move the distressed Nepalis to a safe location.

He also directed the government to organize for relief for the incident’s victims and their families, as well as to take the required coordination and rapid actions to ensure the immediate repatriation of Nepalis who wish to return home.

After expecting such instances in the future, the committee has also directed the government to keep the details of Nepalis in Nepali embassies and posts overseas up to date on a regular basis.

He said, ‘This committee has urged the Government of Nepal, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to bring back the bodies of the Nepalis who died in the unimaginable incident in Israel as soon as possible, to treat the injured, to immediately search for the missing Nepalis and to rescue and relocate the distressed Nepalis to a safe place, to provide relief to the victims and their families. To do this, Nepalis who want to return home are directed to take necessary coordination and quick initiatives for immediate return. In addition, it also directs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to periodically keep the details of Nepalis in the Nepali embassies and missions abroad in full condition and to empower those bodies with resources and tools.

The committee has also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to empower diplomatic missions abroad with resources and tools.
