MPs should take initiative to prevent riots on Dashain: MP Chaudhary
MP Chaudhary stated at a House of Representatives hearing on Sunday that there is a tradition of celebrating Dashain in their own style and that they should be asked to do so.
KATHMANDU: Lalbir Chaudhary of the Nagrik Unmukti Party has stated that MPs should play a role in preventing rioting during Dashain.
MP Chaudhary stated at a House of Representatives hearing on Sunday that there is a tradition of celebrating Dashain in their own style and that they should be asked to do so.
He stated that MPs should take the lead in preventing rioting during Dasain. He also stated that the MPs should work with the local authorities to coordinate their efforts.
He said, ‘As there is a tradition of celebrating Dashain in their own way, during Dashain, the honorable members should advise the district administration chief to celebrate all the castes and castes in their own way during Dashain and not let riots go ahead there. We honorable members should take initiative for it to land smoothly.’
He said that they are trying to cause religious division among the people and said that not only the government but also the MPs should take responsibility for this.
