Protest continues at KMC over doctor assault (photos)
They are protesting as two of the attackers have been apprehended while the main one remains at large.
KATHMANDU: On Monday, doctors at Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) in the city protested the beating of doctors.
They started the demonstration after the intern Dr. Manish Khadka was beaten up at the hospital on Sunday.
The patient’s family assaulted a doctor studying at KMC in Sinamangal yesterday.
The doctors organized a protest in front of the KMC.
Doctors are sitting on the road in front of the medical college and performing.
Two of those engaged in the beating have been apprehended, but one remains at large. They have sought harsh punishment for the perpetrators.
It is said that the relatives of the patient assaulted the doctor during a mutual dispute on Sunday.
Doctors were attacked again in the capital the day after the administration reached an agreement with the protesting doctors following the incident at Pokhara’s Manipal Hospital.
