Protest erupts at KMC over doctor assault (photos)
According to the doctor who works there, one of those who beat the doctor has been caught, while three others have fled.
KATHMANDU: A doctor studying at Kathmandu Medical College in Sinamangal was beaten up by the patient’s relatives.
Doctors and health workers staged a protest after the patient’s family assaulted an intern working in the OPD, according to a doctor studying at KMC.
Doctors were beaten again in the capital the day after the government agreed with the protesting doctors after the incident at Manipal Hospital in Pokhara.
They lifted and tossed the doctor to the ground, and they also assaulted a female attendant who went to protect the doctor.
Following the incident, doctors and interns at the hospital, as well as health staff, gathered on the road in front of the facility and chanted slogans.

As the KMC physicians and interns march towards the roundabout, efforts are being made to disperse them by deploying a huge number of police and armed police.
