Jawalakhel Shoe & Slipper Dashain Festival 2080 begins

KATHMANDU: The Jawalakhel Shoe and Slipper Dashain Festival 2080 was inaugurated at the Jawalakhel football pitch under the major motto “Promotion of Nepali products is our campaign” by the Nepali shoe and shoe producers organization.

Mandira Shakya, Deputy Chief of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality, launched the festival, which was designed to promote indigenous products. He stated that the metropolis’s support and collaboration will always be available to help Nepal become self-sufficient and to encourage indigenous industries. He also advised everyone to buy Nepalese goods.

Similarly, during the opening ceremony, Naniraj Ghimire, a central member of the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce and the Chairof the Nepal Shoe and Slipper Manufacturing Association, promoted indigenous brands to common consumers and developed the spirit of using indigenous products among common consumers through a group of industrialists and businessmen who produce shoes and slippers in Nepal. He stated that various sorts of fairs are being held in major towns throughout the country in order to pique the attention of consumers.

Jawalakhel Shoe Chappal Dashain Festival will be conducted from Ashoj 10 (Sept 27) to Kartik 3 (Oct 20).

A minimum of 20 percent to 50 percent discount has been arranged at the festival, which is open from 9 am to 7 pm.

In the festival, 11 companies and brands participated in the festival, including famous Nepalese shoe and shoe manufacturing companies and brands Royal Shoe Industries – Royal Shoes, Vesh Footwear – V.F. Deer Hill and V.F Sport, Laliguras Footwear – Cross Road Shoes, Suvakamana Footwear – First Walk Shoes, Namaste Footwear – Sills, R.D. Collection’s – High Life, KTM Shoes – KTM, D.J. Shoes Company – D.J. Shoes, Food Fashion – Welly Shoes, Sir Anil Ted Links – Utsav and Koseli Leather Shoes Industry – Koseli Shoes.

In this festival, customers can buy more than 3000 models of shoes and slippers of new brands and designs at fair prices with attractive discounts.
