KATHMANDU: Deepak Khadka, Chair of the Nepali Congress Sankhuwasabha, has resigned from his position.

Khadka, who was unanimously elected to the position of District President at the 14th Congress conference, resigned today.

Through the Chief Secretary of the Party Central Office, Krishna Prasad Paudel, Khadka offered his resignation to Central President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Khadka, who was elected from Sankhuwasabha in the House of Representatives elections held in Mangsir 2079, resigned saying that after becoming a member of the House of Representatives, he had to spend a lot of time in Kathmandu and could not give enough time to the party organization in the district.

Leader Khadka has expressed his commitment to remain active in the work of the party and the people by supporting the new chairman even though he is no longer in the position of the district chairman.
