131 riders honored for Pathao’s 5-year journey, riders’ commissions also reduced

KATHMANDU: Pathao Nepal has introduced the ‘Pathao Benefit Program’ for its Riders, Captains (taxi drivers), and Pathao Heroes (food delivery people).

This was stated by the company’s Managing Director Asheem Man Singh Basnyat while speaking at a function to celebrate the top drivers on September 24 (Sunday) to commemorate the company’s five-year anniversary.

In distinct categories, 131 of the top drivers and Pathao heroes who have ridden since the inception of Pathao have been chosen and awarded.

Speaking at the event, Basnyat, the company’s managing director, said that Pathao, which was started in one city to make it easier for a person to move from one place to another, is now going to different cities. He said, ‘Now we are going to another 5/6 cities soon.’

Pathao, he claims, contributes significantly to the country’s total GDP.

Pathao drivers have been recognized by the company by being classified into diamond, platinum, gold, silver, and bronze categories depending on the rides they have taken thus far.

In addition, riders will be compensated in the event of an accident. According to the firm, motorcyclists in the Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories will receive accident benefits ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 rupees.

Shashank Shamsher Thapa, the spokesperson of Pathao Nepal, informed that attractive discounts will be available in some designated hospitals, restaurants and workshops. According to the category, school fee sponsorship, mobile data package, monthly quests are also available, according to the company.

Thapa informed that this program is a gift from the company as a concession for the riders, captains and Pathao heroes in Kathmandu Valley who have been associated with Pathao for a long time.

Speaking at the anniversary ceremony, Managing Director Basnyat revealed that the ‘Pathao Dashain Festival’ will begin on Ashoj 8 (Sept 25) this year.

The corporation will cut the commission paid by riders as part of this event.

Currently, there is a 20% commission on bikes and a 15% commission on automobile lights (taxi). For the next three weeks, the commission of frequent riders and captains (taxi drivers) will be reduced. In which the commission paid by the highest rider is decreased to at least 1%.
