KATHMANDU: The first cargo ship carrying Ukrainian grain reached Turkey’s Bosphorus Strait using the temporary humanitarian corridor on Thursday.
The ship dubbed Resilient Aprika is claimed to have landed in the Sarıyer area near the Black Sea entrance of Turkey’s Bosphorus State.
The ship will then transit the strait through Israel.
In August, Ukraine announced the establishment of a humanitarian corridor.
The grain cargo was permitted following Russia’s withdrawal from the United Nations grain deal.
Separately, Russia and Ukraine inked the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Istanbul in July 2022.
Ukraine was able to export grain and other agricultural products from its Black Sea ports.
