TechTrix-2023 wraps up, elevating creativity to new heights

KATHMANDU: It is nearly hard to generate qualified workforce with merely theoretical knowledge in today’s technological age.

Technology education in Nepal has advanced significantly in recent years.

In this regard, the competition to organize the fourth edition of TechTrix-2023, held by New Summit College, Shantinagar, Kathmandu, and TechTrix Nepal, both located in Shantinagar, Kathmandu, has finished.

The ending ceremony was presided over by the college’s principal, Chokraj Dawadi, and the welcoming speech was delivered by the college’s chairman of the board of directors, Ajay Prasad Dhakal.

Prof Vinil Aryal, Dean of TU IOST, was invited as the principal guest to the closing ceremony.

Prof. Aryal stated, “I would like to tell you that this program provides an opportunity for students to enhance their inherent potential in IT education, and there is no doubt that the future world IT education and IT experts will do it.”

The winners of the competition in several categories received cash prizes and certificates. Prof Aryal, the chief guest, presented the awardees with cash awards and diplomas totaling one lakh eighty thousand rupees. St. Lawrence College won the IT QUIZ, while Catford College came in second. Sanjay Gautam won Clash Royale, with Sujan Gautam finishing second. Subham Chitrakar’s squad from KFA College won PUBG, while Sunil Giri’s team Hype finished second, and Vishesh Khadka was named Top Frogger. Jagdij Pandey was the FIFA 23 champion, with Samir Gurung finishing second.

The main attraction of the three-day experiment is the Hackathon St. Xaviers College won, while the runner-up title went to Sagarmatha College and the third place went to New Summit College. Under the direct supervision and consultation of the expert consultant, the project was made in a period of 30 hours. The winner was announced based on Pravin Chauhan’s decision.

Principal of the college Chokraj Dawadi concluded by thanking all the sponsors including Nepal Telecom, Idea Studio and Vertigo who are the main sponsors of the program and all those who directly or indirectly helped to make the program successful.
