Anoj and Sushma win gold in Chelsea Road Race

KATHMANDU: Anoj Khadka and Sushma Yadav won gold in the 3rd Chelsea Inter-University Red Race on Sunday.

Anoj and Sushma won the 4.5 km male division. Both are graduates of Budhanilkantha School.

Anoj finished the prescribed distance in 16.51 minutes in the Chelsea World School tournament.

Bijay Budha Magar came in second with a time of 16.52 minutes, and Bivek Lama came in third with a time of 16.53 minutes. bijay and Bibek also belong to Budhanilkanth..

Sushma took 21.41 minutes to complete the required distance. Sujatha KC of Budhanikalkantha came in second with a time of 23.37 minutes, and Diyasil Khadka of Haily Creative came in third with a time of 23.40 seconds.

Budhanilkantha became the overall team champion in the competition. Budhanilkantha added 19 points. Mayor of Gokarneshwor Municipality Deepak Kumar Risal, former record runner Baikuntha Manandhar, founder principal of Chelsea Dr. Sudhir Kumar Jha, president of Chelsea School Management Committee Anand Aditya awarded the winner in a program.

According to Rajan Neupane, ICA in-charge of Chelsea, 350 competitors from 20 different schools competed in the competition.

The race began at the Nepal Medical College Chowk in Attarkhel and looped around several locations before concluding at the host Chelsea’s grounds in Attarkhel.
