Tinkune mass murder: four suspects arrested

KATHMANDU: The police have so far arrested four people suspected of being involved in the mass murder case in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

On Friday night, four persons were killed in the Divya Sawmill. Four people were arrested for questioning in connection with the incident.

Dipendra Rai, 28, was arrested and reported the event to the police. The police preliminary inquiry indicated that he is a drug addict. Three more people were apprehended by the police. They met at a billiards hall in Tinkune, according to authorities, before the murder. They went into the mill after playing snooker. According to the authorities, all of those arrested are drug users.

“Investigation has been started against them,” DSP Anil Adhikari of District Police Complex Kathmandu said, “What and why they were killed will be revealed after the investigation.”

Kumar Bhujel, his wife Ambika Bhujel, mother Shubhadra Bhujel, and Naveen Rai, all of whom worked at Divya Sawmill in Tinkune, were killed on Friday night. Kumar, Ambika, and Shubhadra are all members of the same family. Naveen would come and go from the mill. His father previously worked in the same mill.

The body has been transferred to the Maharajgunj Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The incident is being investigated by the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, and a team from the District Police Complex Kathmandu.
