These are the people the NFPJ to be honored at its 26th annual celebration
The Central Committee meeting held on Bhadra 21 decided to honor various photojournalists along with the 26th Annual General Meeting at Siddhartha Cottage in Tinkune, Kathmandu on Bhadra 21 (Sept 7).
KATHMANDU: On the occasion of the 26th annual festival, the National Photojournalist Group of Nepal (NFPJ) will award persons involved in photojournalism in many genres, including senior photojournalists.
The Central Committee meeting held on Bhadra 21 decided to honor various photojournalists along with the 26th Annual General Meeting at Siddhartha Cottage in Tinkune, Kathmandu on Bhadra 21 (Sept 7).
The meeting chose to award Ram Gurung, Sridharlal Manandhar, Shekhar Chaulagain, and Pravin Shrestha as senior photojournalists, according to the NFPJ.
Similarly, the names of those who will receive the Harigopal Pradhan Photojournalism Award, the President Award, and the Madhav Thapa Adventure Photojournalism Award in five categories have been decided.
Ratna Shrestha for cultural heritage, Kalpana Maharjan for adventure photography, Ambir Tolang for Parya-tourism, Suraj Kumar Shrestha for entertainment, and Bijay Maharjan for sports will each get the Harigopal Pradhan Award and medal.
It has also decided to bestow the Madhav Thapa Adventure Photojournalist Award of $10,000 on Mukunda Kalikot, as well as the President’s Award on Lekh Bahadur Shrestha Sagar, the organization’s treasurer, based on his performance.
On the same occasion, the organization has also decided to provide certificates of appreciation to the organizations that support the programs organized at different times.
