Paramount Motors launches MG Comet EV & MG 4 EV in Nepal

These two models are fresh additions to the Nepali market's growing list of electric automobiles.

KATHMANDU: Paramount Motors, the official distributor and importer of MG cars in Nepal, has launched the MG Comet EV and MG 4 EV in the Nepali market.

These two models are fresh additions to the Nepali market’s growing list of electric automobiles.

Speaking at the launch, Paramount Motors General Manager Sachin Aryal said, “We are very excited to introduce these two electric vehicles in the Nepalese market. These two models are very suitable for customers who want to buy a vehicle that is stylish, practical and within their budget.”

The MG Comet EV is a reasonably priced electric vehicle built in India that has a range of 230 kilometers on a single charge. It has a 17.3 KWH battery and a 31.26 kW motor. For passenger safety, the MG Comet EV has an IP67-rated battery, dual front air bags, rear parking sensors, and seat belts for all passengers.

The MG Comet EV boasts amenities such as an LCD screen, remote central locking, manual air conditioning, and a heater for your convenience and comfort.

The MG Comet EV has a starting price of 17.99 and comes in two variants: play and submit.

Similarly, MG has provided a 3-year warranty up to 100,000 km on the Comet EV’s high-voltage components and an 8-year warranty up to 120,000 km on the high-voltage batteries.

In addition to being named UK Car of the Year 2023, the MG 4 EV has received 5 stars for safety in Europe. The MG Comfort EV is offered in two variants: comfort and luxury, with a battery capacity of 51 Hz and a motor speed of 99 Hz.

Similarly, the MG Luxury EV has a battery capacity of 64 horsepower and a motor capacity of 150 hp. The key selling point of the MG 4 EV is the individual suspension and rear-wheel drive, which is a first in the sector of electric vehicles accessible in the Nepali market at this price.

The MG 4 EV has a range of up to 435 kilometers on a single charge. The rear wheel arrangement of the MG4 EV improves handling and traction. Similarly, there are features for passenger safety such as rear Isofix, front side air bag, tire pressure monitoring system, seat belt reminder, and features for convenience and ease such as mobile phone Bluetooth key, 5 dive mode, and so on.

Similarly, the MG4 EV gets an 8-year warranty on the high voltage battery up to 1,50,000 km and a 3-year warranty on the high voltage component up to 100,000 km.

Similarly, the MG 4 Comfort EV starts at 41.49 lakhs, while the MG Luxury EV starts at 58.99 lakhs.

Both of these MG EVs include touchscreen infotainment systems, reversible cameras, and important safety measures. MG has offered after-sales assistance and a one-year warranty in both cases.

Currently, 19 MG charging stations are available in Nepal via AC and DC. However, by the end of 2023, Paramount Motors plans to raise the number of charging stations to 50. For the convenience of its clients, Paramount Motors has constructed DC charging stations in the country’s major cities of Mulkot, Chitwan, Kurintar, Butwal, and Dhalkebar.

Up to 80% of batteries may be charged in half an hour in these locations, and MG’s new service centers in Kusunti and Itahari, Birtamode, Bardibas, Birgunj, Pokhara, Hetauda, Naubise, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Gaighat, and Dabko Lamahi will open soon.
