Ek Bhagavad Gita controversy ends
The Film Development Board agreed to change the title of the film from 'Ek Bhagavad Gita' to 'Ek Bhagwat and Ek Gita,' and to keep the story social.
KATHMANDU: A controversy has arisen regarding the film ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita’ directed by Jharna Thapa.
The film development board struck an agreement on Sunday between the production unit and the numerous religious organizations that sparked the conflict, which resolved the dispute.
The Film Development Board agreed to change the title of the film from ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita’ to ‘Ek Bhagwat and Ek Gita,’ and to keep the story social.
In addition to the permission, the picture will receive a censor recommendation today.
An agreement was reached between the religious organization building unit on the board and the Film Development Board Chair Bhuwan KC, Film Producers Association Chair Nabal Khadka, Artist Deepakraj Giri, and others.

Following the resolution of the controversy, the film has been confirmed to be screened beginning on Bhadra 29 (Sept 15).
Several religious organizations petitioned the board a few days ago, calling the film ‘Ek Bhagavad Gita’ an attack on religion and requesting a name change.
Due to protest from religious organizations, the board halted the censoring recommendation.
Bipin Karki, Dhiraj Magar, Suhana Thapa, and others star in the film.
The plot revolves around two characters named Bhagavad and Gita. Bipin plays the role of the third gender in the film.
