KATHMANDU: Nepal has lost to Thailand in the semi-finals of the Asia Qualifiers of the Women’s T-20 World Cup.

Nepal were bowled out for 59 runs in 19.3 overs while chasing Thailand’s 106-run chase.

Nepal’s Kavita Kuwan hit 17 unbroken runs. Apsari Begum and Kabita Joshi each scored ten runs.

Other Nepali batsmen failed to reach double figures.

Thailand’s three wickets came from Onnicha Kamchomphu and Thipatcha Putthawong.

Thailand scored 150 runs after losing the toss and batting first, despite losing two wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Thailand’s Nannapat Koncharoenkai hit an undefeated half-century of 59 runs off 63 balls. Natthakan Chantham batted 45 times and scored 31 runs.

Nepal’s Kabita Kunwar and Puja Mahato each grabbed one wicket.

Thailand will qualify for the T20 Women’s World Cup 2024 global qualifiers if they win this match.

Nepal has failed to qualify for the global selection, which began in 2013.
