Thailand batted first after losing the toss in Malaysia’s Bangi, scoring 150 runs while losing two wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. When Nepal began batting in response, they got off to a poor start.
The victorious side in this match will be able to compete in next year’s ICC Women’s Global T20 Qualifier. Nepal hopes to defeat Thailand and qualify for the Global T20 for the first time.
Nepal has not been able to qualify for the global selection, which began in 2013.
Nepal’s World Cup campaign has been restricted to Asian qualifiers. Nepal must defeat Thailand today in order to qualify for the World Cup.
The Asia qualifications for the Women’s T20 World Cup featured 12 countries. Nepal is assigned to Group A. Bahrain, Bhutan, Malaysia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates were all part of Group A, along with Nepal. Group B also included China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Myanmar, and Thailand.
The two countries that will go to the World Cup final will be chosen now, and the tournament’s final match will take place on Sept 9.
