KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has demanded the government to immediately investigate the Giribandhu Tea Estate case and take action against the culprits.

Speaking at zero time in the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, he claimed that there was massive corruption in the case and said that the government should immediately investigate and punish the culprits.

He also cautioned the elected representatives not to speak casually. Mentioning that there have been recent expressions of the destruction of the Singha Durbar and attacks on religious freedom, the MP suggested to the people’s representatives of Khatiwada not to make such expressions.

He said, ‘I would like to request an immediate investigation into the corruption regarding the Giribandhu Tea Estate and take action. Speaker, after being elected, we politicians keep speaking whatever we get without breaking our tongues. Some people say that we will attack, we will destroy the lion palace itself. We say we want an ethnic state. We do things that offend some religion. I request the elected people’s representatives to put a brake on their tongues and speak.’

MP Khatiwada said that people’s representatives should speak only after taking care of their official dignity.
