According to a statement issued by the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has sent a letter of request to the US Department of Defense to sign the agreement in the next few months.
Israel has agreed to sign a contract for the support and maintenance of 25F-35 aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin from the United States.
Three new aircraft are expected to arrive in Israel by 2027. After the contract is completed, the aircraft will be given to the Israeli Air Force. Israel purchased its first F-35 jets in December 2016.
