KATHMANDU: Nepal has registered its third consecutive victory in the ICC Women’s T-20 World Cup Asia region qualifiers.

Nepal beat Bhutan’s target of 40 runs in 13.2 overs, losing 7 wickets.
Apart from captain Rubina Chhetri scoring 12 runs for Nepal, others could not score runs in double figures.
Four Nepalese players were dismissed for 0 runs. Sita Rana Magar scored 8 runs while Kavita Joshi scored 9 runs.
Bhutan’s Anjuli Ghale grabbed three wickets, while Chiring Zangemba took two. Anju Gurung and Sonam each took one wicket.
Bhutan, who loss the toss and batted first, scored 39 runs for the cost of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Apart from captain Dinchin Wangmo scoring 21 runs for Bhutan, other could not score runs in double figures.
For Nepal, Pooja Mahato took 3 wickets and Kavita Kunwar, Khushi Dangol and captain Rubina Chhetri took 1/1 wicket each.
Nepal defeated Malaysia by 5 runs in the first match and Bahrain by 10 wickets in the second match.
Nepal will play Qatar in the fourth match on Monday. Nepal will play UAE in the last match of the group stage on Tuesday.
The competition’s semi-final match is scheduled for Sept 7. The tournament’s final match is on Sept 8.
The competition is being held in 11 nations. The 11 participating countries are split into two groups.
Group A of the tournament consists of Nepal, Bahrain, Bhutan, Malaysia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Kuwait, and Myanmar make up Group B.
Each group’s top two teams will advance to the semi-finals. The two winning teams will compete in the Global T20 Qualifier in 2024.
