KATHMANDU: Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Chairman and General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, has warned that the country may disintegrate if the current conflict is not resolved.

He made these remarks on Thursday when speaking to Sudanese police leaders in Port Sudan, the capital city of the Red Sea State of Eastern Sudan.

He stated that the country is at war and that if the situation is not resolved fast, the country will split up.

He insisted on the end of the conflict and urged residents to prepare for the post-war government. He demanded that members of the paramilitary Rapid Support Force 9RSF surrender their firearms.

RSF perpetrated war crimes in Darfur and Khartoum, and those responsible must be brought to justice.
