KAATHMANDU: The Supreme Court is holding the last hearing on the CPN-UML petition challenging the ‘vote of confidence’ held by Koshi State Chief Minister Uddhav Thapa.

The UML petitioned the Supreme Court, arguing that the ruling party had acted in violation of the constitution, claiming that even the members who presided over the State Assembly meeting had given the Chief Minister a vote of confidence.

A full hearing on the writ has already been scheduled on Friday.

During the preliminary hearing on the writ, on Bhadra 7 (Aug 24), the bench of Judge Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada issued an interim order not to make a long-term decision, saying that the Koshi government did not follow the process of taking the vote of confidence.
