KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Poudel has wished success to the Nepali national cricket team, which is going to Pakistan to participate in the Asia Cup cricket tournament.

In the meeting organized today at Rashtrapati Bhawan Sheetal Niwas, he wished success to the participating cricket players, coaches and others.

“I would like to wish success to the players, coaches and others involved in the Nepali national cricket team as they are going to play in the Asia Cup cricket tournament that will start on Bhadra 13 (Aug 13) in Pakistan”, President Poudel said, “Nepal’s participation in this type of international tournament will give the players an opportunity to build their personality and give Nepal and Nepalese international exposure. It will contribute to making it known to the world and increasing the prestige and dignity of the nation.”

President Poudel stated that the growing interest in cricket in Nepal, as well as recent progress in the game, has excited all Nepalis. To make it more result-oriented, the government should create suitable opportunities and infrastructure for the sports world, as well as intensify training and competition.
