Conflict escalates between Israel and Palestine: Killing of an Israeli citizen by a Palestinian
Twelve Palestinian soldiers were injured.
AGENCY: An Israeli woman was killed in an attack by Palestinian gunmen in a West Bank city.
According to the Israeli army, a woman was killed and another was critically injured when a Palestinian gunman attacked on Monday evening. A gunman opened fire on a couple in a car outside the Jewish hamlet of Beit Hagai, south of the West Bank city of Hebron, killing a lady and badly injuring a man, according to the army.
A 6-year-old child was also in the vehicle but was unharmed. The army stated it is looking for the person who fired and killed the victim, and the area’s border has been blocked.
This incident occurred as a result of rising tensions between Israeli and Palestinian residents of the West Bank. An Israeli citizen father and son were killed in a car in the Palestinian community of Hawara last Saturday.
The conflict between Israel and Palestine has just erupted. Following that incident, there has been activity on the West Bank border between Palestine and Israel. Twelve Palestinian soldiers were injured.
Since January, 33 Israeli citizens have been killed in attacks by Palestinian citizens. In the same period, more than 200 Palestinian civilians have been killed by Israelis.
