CIB submitted the investigation report of Lalita Niwas land case
District Attorney Mahesh Khatri informed that the CIB has submitted the original and duplicate files along with the investigation report.

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police has submitted the investigation report regarding the embezzlement of Lalita Niwas land in Baluwatar to the District Public Prosecutor’s office today.
District Attorney Mahesh Khatri informed that the CIB has submitted the original and duplicate files along with the investigation report to the office of the District Public Prosecutor in the case of Lalita Niwas organized and organized. He also said that the prosecution will proceed after the missile study.
Informing that the accused should be prosecuted within 60 days of the arrest of the Lalita Niwas land case, he said, ‘Since the next Friday or Saturday is a public holiday, it seems that the case should be sent to the court on Sunday anyway. According to that, a team is formed and the prosecution process starts.’
In the investigation conducted by CIB, it has been revealed that 143 ropani government lands of Lalita Niwas located in Baluwatar were registered in the name of individuals five times from 2049 to 2070. Out of this, in the year 2066, more than 25 ropani of land has been registered under the name of ‘Pradhan Mantri Niwas Expansion’ to make way for plotting and in the name of mohi.
The government led by Madhav Nepal decided to expand the Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar and to transfer the land outside the walls to the Mohis who were there in exchange for admission.
When the decision was implemented, 27 ropani 7 annas 2 paisa 1 daam of land had to be added to the Prime Minister’s residence. But the council of ministers decided to manage them elsewhere by erecting Mohi which is not on the government land and about half of the land to be added within the wall of Baluwatar was transferred to the name of Mohi and went into the possession of the ‘land mafia’, according to the investigation officers.
According to the circular of the Prime Minister’s Office, it was decided that the royal estate and government land in the name of Samarjung Company will be maintained. Officials say that due to this decision, many public, government and even Guthi lands have been embezzled.
On 5 Magh 2069 (18 Jan, 2013), the Land Port Office, Dillibazar decided to register the 60 ana land within Lalitanivas in the name of ‘Pashupati Tikinya Guthi’. The then Council of Ministers led by Dr. Baburam Bhattarai decided to give principled approval in this regard.
Officials say that land mafias have set up fake houses and put fake charms on them to kill the remaining land in Lalita Niwas and transferred the government land in the name of individuals.
The then ministers Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, Chandradev Joshi and others have been accused of playing a role in sending this proposal to the Council of Ministers.
