CIB took statement of Gachhadar & Sah

KATHMANDU: The statement of Nepali Congress leader and former minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar and former state minister Sanjay Sah has been taken into account by the Central Investigation Bureau of Police (CIB).

The CIB obtained a statement from them in the matter of embezzlement of government land belonging to Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar.

Gachdar gave a statement to the investigating officers at the CIB in Maharajgunj on Monday evening. The court has issued an arrest warrant for former Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar. However, after obtaining a statement, the police freed him.

Similarly, Shah, who is incarcerated in Nakhkhu Jail, was brought to the CIB office in Maharajgunj and his statement was taken. He is the former Minister of State for Physical Planning and Construction.

The CIB has also taken a statement from former minister Chandradev Joshi, for whom an arrest warrant has been issued, yesterday evening. Before that, the CIB had also given statements to former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal on Sunday night and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai on Monday morning.

Officials of the CIB say that there was a delay in the statements of former ministers Joshi, Gachhadar and Sah as they were preparing to submit the investigation report on Monday.
