Police destroy 6 drug labs, arrest 15 in Afghanistan
Afghan authorities have intensified the crackdown on illicit drugs and those involved in the underground business.

KABUL: Afghan police have destroyed six drug processing labs and arrested 15 persons on the charge of involvement in the drug business in the capital Kabul and provinces of Kandahar, Wardak, and Ghor, said a statement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs on Sunday.
Acting on tip-offs, the counter-narcotics police launched operations nationwide on Saturday, seizing a vast quantity of materials used in manufacturing heroin at the sites raided and from the possession of the arrested people, the statement said.
Afghan authorities have intensified the crackdown on illicit drugs and those involved in the underground business.
A few days ago security personnel arrested 18 alleged drug smugglers in six out of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces, according to the police.
