Meeting of national parties sitting to reopen the House ends without conclusion
Prime Minister Dahal has called on the National Party-recognized parties to reach an agreement on reopening the Parliament meeting, which has been stalled since July 10 due to the largest opposition party, the CPN-UML.

KATHMANDU: At the call of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the meeting of the national parties held at the Prime Minister’s Office Singhdarbar ended without a conclusion.
Prime Minister Dahal has called on the National Party-recognized parties to reach an agreement on reopening the Parliament meeting, which has been stalled since July 10 due to the largest opposition party, the CPN-UML.
During the conference, the main opposition party UML stated that a high-level commission should be constituted to investigate the gold smuggling case in order to remove the Parliament’s impediment.
The meeting could not agree on the matter. During the meeting, Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is also the leader of the CPN Maoist Centre, stated that because the police’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) is investigating the scandal, forming a commission would interfere with the investigation and that the commission should not be formed.
