Principal jailed for child sex abusers
Yogendra Prasad Dhamala, the principal of Ganesh Secondary School in Okhaldhunga's Molung Rural Municipality-2, was sentenced to 9 months in prison.
KATHMANDU: The principal has been sentenced to 9 months in prison for child sexual abuse.
Yogendra Prasad Dhamala, the principal of Ganesh Secondary School in Okhaldhunga’s Molung Rural Municipality-2, was sentenced to 9 months in prison.
Shrestodar Binod Kumar Ghimire stated that the Okhaldhunga District Court bench of Judge Tikaram Acharya decided Dhamala’s punishment for sexually abusing two females from the same school.
Shrestdar Ghimire further stated that Dhamala was ordered to pay 50,000 rupees in compensation and a 20,000 rupee fine.
The child’s relatives filed a complaint against the principal with the police in Chaitra, accusing him of child sexual abuse.
The district court discharged Dhamala, who was apprehended by police following the complaint.
Dhamala, who had returned to regular school work after being absent, was sentenced to 9 months in prison by Judge Acharya’s bench on Shrawan 29 (Aug 14).
