Young man severs own penis in attempt to become a ‘Sadhu’
The young man cut his penis at Phulbari Hotel and Lodge located in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-10 of Makwanpur.
KATHMANDU: The young man, who was injured by cutting off his own penis, was operated on at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.
A 22-year-old man from Makwanpurgarhi Rural Municipality-7 Nayagaun in Makwanpur was operated on after being injured after cutting his penis.
The young man cut his penis at Phulbari Hotel and Lodge located in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-10 of Makwanpur on the night of Shrawan 31 (Aug 16).
Dr. Dayaram Lamsal, the college’s director, informed him that the surgery was performed to remove the cut part of his penis. Before 6-7 hours, the cut is removed, and the cut section that is not alive is removed. He is now no longer in danger.
He went to Hetauda Hospital for treatment after injuring himself while cutting his penis. The hospital referred the patient to Chitwan Medical College for further treatment at night. Having studied as an overseer, he walked away declaring that he would become a ‘Sadhu’.
However, Makwanpur SP Sitaram Rijal stated that he had told police that he had been bitten by a scorpion in the hotel and had severed his penis to prevent the poison from spreading.
