Raging fire devastated 800 hectares in Spain, Tenerife
Approximately 150 fire engines, 13 planes, and helicopters are now combating the fire.

AGENCY: An area of 800 hectares has been burnt on the island of Tenerife in Spain.
The road network had to be disrupted on Wednesday owing to the fire. According to the BBC, the localities evacuated owing to the fire on Wednesday morning include Arete, Chivicia, Media Montana, Azafona, and Las Lagunetas.
The Canary Islands’ president, Fernando Clavijo Batlle, stated that the fire that erupted on Tuesday has yet to be put out.
Fighting the fire has been made more difficult by the rocky terrain between the small communities of Arafo and Candelaria in the island’s northeast.
Candelaria Mayor Maria Concepcion Brito has issued a warning that the fire could spread to nearby municipalities.
Approximately 150 fire engines, 13 planes, and helicopters are now combating the fire.
The Spanish Military Emergency Unit (UME) has been called in to put out the fire.
Already, 50 troops have been deployed in the region.
According to the European Forest Fire Information System (EFFIC), 73,500 hectares of forest have burned so far in 2023 in Spain.
