KATHMANDU: After two weeks, the ACC ODI Asia Cup will be contested in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. As the Asia Cup is being played for the first time, this tournament is being watched with interest.

In addition, India and Pakistan have grown in importance within Nepal’s group.

Nepal’s focus will be on the players from these two countries. As there are many prominent players in both opposing countries, it is predicted that watching their matches would be a thrilling experience. This tournament is significant as Nepal will face India and Pakistan for the first time in its history.

The Nepali team is planning to go to Pakistan next week. “The Nepali team will play a practice match before playing against India and Pakistan,” acting secretary of the Nepal Cricket Association Durgaraj Pathak said, “the arrangement has been arranged by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The Nepali team will reach Karachi on August 5 for training before playing against Pakistan. Nepal will play the first match of the Asia Cup against Pakistan on Bhadra 13 (Aug 30).

Nepal will have to travel to Sri Lanka from Pakistan to play the second match of the group stage. Nepal will play the second match against India on August 18 in Sri Lanka. Four teams will play the Super Four, with the top two teams from the group of three teams each. After the Super Four, the final of the Asia Cup will be held on Bhadra 31 (Sept 17).
