KATHMANDU: The construction of the Bharatpur-Bardaghat 220 kV double-circuit transmission line has been completed.
The project is viewed significantly in terms of facilitating the distribution of power generated in the eastern parts to western Nepal.
The 74-kilometer line that is originated from the Aaptari-based New Bharatpur Substation in Bharatpur Metropolitan-11 in Chitwan ends at the Bardhat substation of Nawalparasi ( Bardaghat-Susta East)
The infrastructure has the capacity of transmission of up to 1,000 megawatts of electricity. Initially, it will be operated partially (132-kV).
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) managing director Kulman Ghishing hopes that with the completion of the construction of the transmission line, it would be easier to supply power from Bharatpur to the western parts of the country.
