Defeating Police Club Kings Club secures championship triumph
The first set was won by the Kings, while the second set was lost. The host team won the next two sets to win the championship.

KATHMANDU: The host Kings Club Kathmandu has become the champion of the second edition of the Kings Cup men’s volleyball tournament by defeating the departmental team Nepal Police Club.
They won the title by defeating the police in a set of 3-1 in the final held on Monday at the court of Dhorpatan Sports Club at Naya Bus Park in Kathmandu.
The first set was won by the Kings, while the second set was lost. The host team won the next two sets to win the championship.
The first set was won by Kings 25-23, but the second set was lost by Kings 18-25. The next two sets were won by Kings by scores of 25-17 and 25-23.
The final, which was scheduled for Saturday, could only be held on Monday due to rain.
Champion Kings received 2 lakh 2 thousand in cash along with cup, medal and certificate.
The police who came second won 1 lakh 1 thousand rupees, a cup medal and a certificate.
Nepal APF Club and Gandaki State, which came third jointly, got 72 thousand 700 rupees, a cup and a certificate.
The winning team was awarded by Jitendra Bahadur Chand, president of Nepal Volleyball Association, Anchal Shahi, president of organizing Kings Club and others.
8 teams are participating in the tournament which started from Shrawan 23.
