KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the 17-member Nepali national team under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel for the Asia Cup 2023.

Nepal is competing in Group ‘A’ of the Asia Cup in one-day cricket. In the group, Nepal will face India and Pakistan.

Nepal will make last preparations in Karachi, Pakistan, before the Asia Cup. During the one-week preparation in Pakistan, Nepal will play a practice match against the local squad.

Despite the fact that Pakistan is hosting the Asia Cup, the majority of the matches are being played in Sri Lanka. The match was scheduled to be played in Sri Lanka after India refused to play in Pakistan.

The Nepali squad will arrive in Karachi on August 5 to train before facing Pakistan.

Nepal will play the first match of the Asia Cup against Pakistan on Bhadra 13.

Nepal will have to travel from Pakistan to Sri Lanka to play the second match of the group stage. Nepal will meet India in the second round on Bhadra 18 in Sri Lanka.

Four teams will play the Super Four, with the top two teams from the group of three teams each. After the Super Four, the final of the Asia Cup will be held on Bhadra 31.
