Gold removed from ‘Break Shoe’, taking mint division to check (photos)

KATHMANDU: The smuggled gold was extracted from the brake shoe by fabricating a cover for the ‘brake shoe’ used on the motorcycle.
The gold recovered from the Tribhuvan International Airport customs office on Shrawan 2 (July 18) was extracted from the brake shoe.
The gold will now be taken to the mint division of Rastra Bank to be weighed and checked for quality.
The police’s Central Investigation Bureau, which is probing the gold smuggling case, had asked the mint division in a letter to weigh the gold and inspect its quality.
