CIB sends letter to mint division requesting seized gold be weighed

KATHMANDU: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) sent a letter to the mint division of Nepal Rastra Bank requesting to weighing of about one quintal of gold confiscated outside the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) customs office on Shrawan 2 (July 18).

According to mint division, the gold-weighing process will begin shortly.

The division had recovered the ‘break shoe’ weighing 155 kg with gold on Shrawan 2 (July 18).

Initially, the case was investigated by the Revenue Investigation Department.

The case was then referred to CIB for investigation.
