NA meeting adjourned after the disruption of MPs

KATHMANDU: In today’s meeting of the National Assembly, the meeting was adjourned after the MPs of the ruling party and the opposition stood up from their seats.

In the meeting, Gangakumari Belbase said that since the House was blocked for a long time, she could not talk about the issue of people’s livelihood. He drew the attention of the government about the dengue outbreak in the country, animals dying due to Lumpy skin disease and flood problems affecting people’s lives.

Member of Parliament Bhagwati Neupane mentioned that the House had to be blocked due to the necessity of maintaining good governance and defence of the country and said that Nepal should not be made a place for smuggling.

He said that the government should be sensitive to the people and form a high-level investigation committee on the issue of gold smuggling.

Member of Parliament Jitendra Narayan Dev mentioned that blocking the Parliament for a long time is not the solution to the problem and emphasized that everything should be done to fulfill the desire of the people for good governance, reduction of corruption and development.

Parliamentarian Rajendra Lakshmi Gayre mentioned that Amnepali was not happy when the House was blocked when the law needed to be made after passing the budget and asked for relief and compensation to the flood victims.

Member of Parliament Mohammad Khalid stressed that the House should not be blocked as the Nepalese people are frustrated because of the political parties. MP Tul Prasad Bishwakarma emphasized that the issue of people’s livelihood is before the country, people’s lives are becoming difficult due to floods and landslides and the government should be serious about it.

MP Dr. Vimala Rai Paudel clarified that the opposition has demanded the formation of a high-level investigation committee as there is a question as to whether the investigation conducted by the same agency is true because of suspicions about the leadership of the ministry. The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on Shrawan 31 (Aug 16) at 1 o’clock.
