Woman died as a result of hospital negligence at ‘Marie Stope’ in Dhangadhi
Relatives of the deceased have alleged that the Thapa died after the clinic gave random medicines.
KATHMANDU: In Kailali’s Dhangadhi, a woman has died due to excessive bleeding after taking an abortion drug.
A 35-year-old Preeti Thapa of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan-12 Jugeda died on Thursday after she bought and consumed abortion pills from the Marie Stopecommunity clinic on the hospital line of Dhangadhi.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kuldeep Chand, the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Thapa bought abortion pills from Marie Stope Community Clinic on Thursday morning.
She was taken to Seti State Hospital for treatment after bleeding after taking medicine.
She died in the state hospital during treatment. Relatives of the deceased have alleged that the Thapa died after the clinic gave random medicines.
Police have arrested 25-year-old Binod Joshi, a resident of Godawari Municipality-2, who fled after the incident.
According to the police, the incident is being investigated after taking him into custody.
