At least 17 dead after boat capsizes off Myanmar coast

YANGON: The bodies of 17 people have been found on the shores of Rakhine State in western Myanmar after a boat capsized in Bay of Bengal, Yar La, an official from the Shwe Yaung Myittar Foundation, told Xinhua on Thursday.

At least 55 people were on board the boat, and eight of them were rescued, he added.

Search and rescue operations will continue, he said.
