MP Sharma taken to CIB office in Lainchaur

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau has detained Congress MP Sunil Sharma and taken him to the CIB office in Lainchaur.

MP Sharma was arrested by CIB from his residence in Golfutar this afternoon.

Sharma was arrested for an unknown reason, according to the police. In the one quintal gold smuggling case, Sharma had requested the resignations of the Home Minister and the Finance Minister.

He also threatened to go on a hunger strike at the parliament building if the perpetrators of the gold scandal were not punished.
